Sony announces first three 50gb Blu-ray titles

Sony will release it's first two layer Blu-ray titles, beginning this week. The discs will also be the first to offer some "extra features" along with added interactivity. There should be a lot less compression going on as well, considering there's an additional 25gb to play around with. So this is probably the most exciting thing for Blu-ray aficionados, wanting to see what sort of picture this disc can provide on their displays. First to hit the shelves, will be Adam Sandlers "Click" on October 10. Then, "Black Hawk Down" will arrive on 14 November, followed by another Saturday Night Live cast member gone Hollywood, Will Ferrell in "Talladega Nights" on December 12.

With its greater capacity, the Blu-ray Disc of Click will include features like high-definition and uncompressed PCM (pulse code modulation) audio. In addition, there will be an audio commentary with star Adam Sandler, director Frank Coraci, executive producer Tim Herlihy and writer Steve Koren, four deleted scenes and seven featurettes, including a documentary on the film's special effects and a Director's Take.

The Blu-Wizard playlist technology used in the disc of Black Hawk will let viewers customize the way they watch special features. Additional features include an audio commentary with author Mark Bowden, screenwriter Ken Nolan, director Ridley Scott and others as well as six making-of documentaries exploring various aspects of the movie's production.

Talladega comes with nine deleted and extended scenes, all in high-definition, an audio commentary with director Adam McKay and others and a bonus race footage.

Looks like the Click dual layer movie, will be going for less than 30 dollars, at least over at Amazon, where they have it listed for $27.25. You can check out the rest of the article at it's source, by visiting Earth Times.
