Sony Ericsson recently introduced the C905a Cybershot camera phone aimed at consumers who want their mobile phone to be able to take high-quality images.
The phone has an 8.1-megapixel camera, auto focus, face detection, flash, and GPS tagging -- the AT&T phone will help the provider fill the void, as AT&T has lacked a true camera phone. The 2.4-in., 240x320 screen that has a built-in Web browser and Bluetooth, and offers text messaging and other expected features.
The C905a will compete head-to-head with the Samsung Behold SGH-T919 and Motorola MotoZINE ZN5 camera phones, which have seen decent success among consumers.
The phone will be released on July 19 for $179.99 with a two-year phone agreement.

Sony Ericsson is in dire need of a line of solid phones, as the company recently posted its fourth straight quarterly loss. The company's second quarter loss of $300 million is less than what financial experts estimated, but the company shipped just 13.8 million phones -- 43 percent less than one year ago.
Specifically, Sony Ericsson has struggled while its competitors continue to release touchscreen phones and smartphones, with the company unable to keep pace.
I've never been a big fan of camera phones, but there is an obvious demand for such devices in the United States at the moment. Despite the popularity of the Apple iPhone, AT&T will likely heavily market the C905a towards younger people, such as high school and college students.
If you're an AT&T subscriber looking for a camera phone, are you interested in the C905a phone?
