Sony Japan announces the CRX-185A1 (32/10/40)

Sony Japan has announced a new CD-RW drive with the codename CRX-185A1. It supports writing up to 32x, re-writing up to 10x, and reading up to 40x. The drive uses the "PowerBurn" anti-buffer underrun technology and will support the reading and writing of CD-Text:

Features:

  • Writing: 8x, 12x, 16x (CLV) and 16-32x (Zone-CLV)
  • Re-writing: 4x, 8x and 10x (CLV)
  • Reading: 40x (CAV)
  • Buffer: 2MB
  • Seek Times: 150ms

Software CD-ROM, IDE flat cable, substantial instruction manual, installation screws (é—4), quick start guide and guarantee.
