Sony offers USB 2.0 CD burner

CestLaVie used our newssubmit to tell us that Sony has unveiled their latest product: the CRX1750U/A2, an external USB CD-RW.

The latest external CD-RW drive from Sony boasts USB 2 support, 24x writing, 10x re-writing and 40x reading. The drive features a 150ms access time and a 2MB memory buffer. In addition, the drive is also backward compatible with USB 1.1 for speeds of 4x write, 4x re-write and 6x read - the standard speed for USB 1.1 CD-RW drives.

Supporting Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and MacOS 9.0.4 or higher, the CRX1750U/A2 measures up at 6.5" x 2.1" x 9.8" and comes with the following software: B's Clip, B's Recorder Gold, ArcSoft PhotoBase, ArcSoft PhotoStudio, ArcSoft VideoImpression, Musicmatch Jukebox and Dantz Development's Retrospect Express.

Sony now has 2 internal and 2 external drives. This new drive will be available around November 2001 and will costs around $299. Read more on everythingusb.com.
