In North America a total of 1.2 million Playstation 3 consoles were sold during the holiday season. With Playstation 2 sales a total of 3.9 million consoles were sold. This means Sony ended the year strong, but most importantly, a total of 1.2 Blu-ray users have just entered the market.
After Warner's blow to Toshiba's HD DVD format, this news must make January a horible month for the HD DVD producers.
