The Geman media distributor Speerdata has released a new 8x dual DVD burner. The drive looks very similar to LiteOn drives and is probably a rebadged LiteOn LDW811S since Speerdata already rebadged some other LiteOn drives.

Speerdata sells these drives in their online shop for 179 Euro, while chip.de mentions 150 Euro as a recommended price. The drive will be available from January 2004. The drive is still restricted to 4x on DVD-R and 2x on DVD-RW, while for example Memorex already offers 8x DVD-R and 4x DVD-RW.
