Super Talent Technology today announced the DuraDrive ZT3. The entire DuraDrive series, including the ZT3, offer enhanced durability, reliability, and performance in environments that require tougher devices than a standard drive.
The drives have a Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) /IDE interface, a 1.8" form factor and are available in both MLC and SLC NAND flash memory. The DuraDrive ZT3 is available in capacities of 16GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256GB.
The specified maximum reads and writes are 125 MB/s and 110 MB/s respectively. The access time is specified at 0.2 ms and the drives have a 128 MB internal cache.
According to Super Talent the drives are able to withstand extreme shocks, humidity, altitude, and temperatures (-40 to 80 Celsius). That's also the reason why the company doesn't target them to home users but instead for usage in aerospace, the medical industry, embedded or industrial systems, and enterprise computing.
The ZT3 drives have the usual technologies aboard, such as ECC/EDC support, bad bit management firmware and wear leveling technology. The company not disclosed any information on availability and pricing.
