Intresting developments in the DVD recording industry at the moment. Just a while after we announced that Lite-On is planning to release a 4x DVD recorder, now TDK has announced it will release a 4x DVD+RW and a 4x DVD±RW drive. Both models will also be able to write CD-R(W)discs.
This is intresting because for now TDK has used Lite-On internals in their CD-RW drive line, and it would certainly not be suprising if TDK would continue this in their DVD recorder line. Unfortunately, we will have to guess about this for now. Here is some more info about the drives:

The Indi DVD single format model (Model AID+420N) will be available in December 2002 for an estimated street price of $349. The Indi DVD MultiFormat (Model AID+040212N) DVD writer will be available in January 2003 with an estimated street price to be announced.
