TDK USA has updated its website with the specifications of the TDK indiDVD 840G DVD±R/RW writer. The indiDVD 840G writes DVD+R in 8x, DVD+RW in 4x, DVD-R in 4x and DVD-RW in 2x as well as CD-R in 40x and CD-RW in 24x. Just like the previous models it comes with a black front bezel.

While TDK's 4x DVD writers have been based on NEC's ND-1100A/1300A the new 8x model looks very much like a Plextor PX-708A. The MSRP of the indiDVD 840G is $ 279 and one of our forum members, controller2k4, has already bought one so it should already be available in USA.
