TDK introduces new DVD recordable media and 8x dual format DVD recorders


TDK has announced several new products during the CES in Las Vegas. The Japanese company has introduced a 8x dual format burner of its Indi series and it has expanded its DVD recordable line up. The company has introduced a second generation UV protected amor plate DVD recordable line and new printable DVD discs. TDK will also start the delivery of 8 speed DVD recordable media to the market.

TDK's new second-generation Armor Plated DVD media adds an ultraviolet protection layer that guards against UV damage, for even greater durability. In addition, TDK is demonstrating its photo-quality printable DVD discs. Photo-quality printable DVD discs are optimized for high-resolution, color-perfect DVD surface printing with the latest generation of Epson inkjet printer models that feature direct printing on CD or DVD surfaces.

Along with these innovative new products, TDK is showcasing its recently introduced Certified Plus 8x-speed recordable DVD media. It offers the fastest burning speeds of any blank DVD media available and provides error-free recording with TDK's current lineup of high-speed internal and external Indi DVD burners.

The new Indi DVD burners utilize advanced TDK technologies to deliver groundbreaking performance. Desktop PC users will appreciate the internal Indi DVD's simple installation, integrated styling and superior quietness (<45dB acoustic noise). Featuring both FireWire/IEEE 1394 and USB 2.0 connectivity, the external Indi DVD is ideal for notebook PCs and Mac computers. For total DVD burning flexibility, the external Indi DVD offers true plug-and-play functionality, with setup taking only a few minutes.
