Teac CD-W516EB 16X CD-RW review @ Storagereview

Blackbeard used our newssubmit to tell us that Storagereview.com has a review on the Teac CD-W516EB. This drive is able to write at 16 speed, rewrite at 10 speed, and read at 40 speed. The drive uses the BurnProof technology to prevent buffer underruns, and also has a 2 Mb buffer.

The drive comes with EasyCDCreator and performs very well. Too bad they forgot to review the drive's capabilties with CloneCD.

Conclusion

The Teac CD-W516EB is one of the most impressive CD-RWs we've tested. Its strengths include:

Intelligent use of Zone CAV provides 95% of the DAE performance of a 40X CAV extractor with reduced RPMs on the outer portion of the disc.

More thorough OPC check provides theoretically better burn quality.
