Microsoft posted a video of Microsoft employee Major Nelson unboxing the Xbox One Day One Edition. The video shows a massive box required to power the console. The power brick is essentially an external power supply and was also used on the Xbox 360. It's a fairly large unit with the size of a brick.
Many gamers dislike a power brick due to its large presence. While Microsoft has decided to include it again on their next generation console, Sony announced that their next generation console, the Playstation 4, has no power brick.
The video also shows the other contents of the Xbox One Day One Edition Box. This should be nearly identical to a normal Xbox One box, which contains the console itself, a Kinect sensor, HDMI 1.4 cable (with support for 4k), power cord and a headset. The Xbox One Day One Edition comes with a special branded Day One controller with a chrome D-pad. Gamers who've bought this special edition also get a Day One digital achievement.
The console should become available in November 2013, but Microsoft has not released a specific date yet. The Day One edition should become available in the United States and Europe, other parts of the world have not been confirmed yet. The console will cost $499 in the US and € 499 in Europe.
