Today a new version of USB Drive Letter Manager has been released. With this versatile application it's easy to manage USB devices. The application makes it possible to e.g. only assign drive letters when a medium is inserted in a drive, which is useful for multi card readers. It also allows to choose which drive letters are allowed to be assigned depending on the USB device type, the size of the drive, the used USB port and the name of the volume.

Using a text balloon in the notification area the application notifies which letter it has assigned to a device. USB Drive Letter Manager is free for personal and educational usage. Since version 4.8.8.6 the developer Uwe Sieber has made the following changes
Changes in version 4.8.8.9
- Since V4.8.4 virtual volumes not handled correctly unter Vista+ with active UAC
- Bugfix: Drive size in balloontips now rounded to full Gigabytes again
- New: Support for the TrueCrypt replacement VeraCrypt
- New: UsbDriveInfo can add and remove NTFS mountpoints

- Bugfix: On creation of the initial USBDLM.INI the line NoMediaNoLetter=0 was written twice
- New: DeleteSviFolder works under other Windows versions than XP

- Bugfix: Keep Alive sectionname was documented wrong as DriveKeepAlive, correct is DiskKeepAlive
- Bugfix: USBDLM sometimes created unnecessary no-letter entries in the MountManager database
