Verbatim has announced the addition of 8x DVD+RW media to its range, which reduces writing time by up to 40% when compared with 4x DVD+RW media, allowing 4.7GB of data to be written in around 8 minutes. The media is designed to handle over 1,000 rewrite cycles as well allow archival over an extended period of time. These discs also feature its Advanced Super Eutectic Recording layer (SERL) technology for noise-free, high speed data storage after each rewrite cycle, unlike conventional rewritable media that deteroriates in quality each time the disc goes through a write cycle. As a result, Verbatim grants a lifetime warranty on all of its DVD+RW media.
These Verbatim 8x DVD+RW discs are set to retail for £11.50 (~US$22.55) inc. VAT in the UK and have been checked for compatibility with various DVD-ROM drives and DVD players.
