The drive can burn CD's at 12x, rewrite at 10x and write to both DVD+R and DVD+RW media at 2.4x. The Producer also has support for technologies like loss less linking, defect management, background formatting and Just-Link buffer underrun protection. Best of all, Verbatim has included software from companies like Ahead Software, Sonic and InterVideo. |

When it comes down to it, the Verbatim Producer is a pretty decent DVD+RW drive for the price. While Verbatim is relatively new to the DVD writer market, the Producer delivers performance and features on par with the drives from the competition.
Like the other DVD+RW drives we've tested, the Verbatim Producer had no problems in our DVD writing tests. With some of the new, next generation DVD+RW drives starting to offer 4x writing speeds (including Verbatim's own 4x DVD+RW), the Producer does have a slight disadvantage. However, its 2.4x writing speeds will allow you to write an entire DVD in about 25 minutes. When reading DVD's, the Producer was able to reach 8x with most of its supported media and was able to read our DVD-R and DVD-RW test media without too many problems.
