On its website Waitec has announced their latest recorder, the Waitec Storm 48. This drive, a 48X/16X/48X recorder, will have SafeLink to prevent buffer underrun errors and will be able to extract audio (DAE) at 48x:

Storm 48 is of course featuring SafeLink technology that prevents buffer under run errors and makes perfect recordings. A comfortable 2MB internal buffer supports this technology.

You can read more about this new Waitec writer here. Drive sounds good to me but I wonder how it will perform with audio and data protections... Also, the 2MB buffer is a little too small for my taste.
