Winamp updated to version 5.0.7, fixes critical security bug

On
the Winamp Forums we can find a thread that announces a new version of the popular music (and
video) player. According to the changelog this version fixes a critical security
bug so upgrading your version is recommended. Here is the complete list of
changes:


Winamp v5.0.7:



  • Critical Security bug fixed in in_cdda.dll and .m3u
    handler (

  • Installer fixed so that read_file.dll is installed
    always with .mod support

  • in_mp3 & in_nsv work on Win95 again (introduced
    via a 5.06 bugfix)

  • Proxy settings work again (originally introduced
    via a 5.06 bugfix)

  • Small resource-leak bugfix

  • Rip/burn compatibility bugfix for users with newer
    Sonic Engine installed

  • New "Next" button in Winamp Modern skin, minus gray
    artefact (

  • IPC_GETVERSION now reports proper version
    number
