Microsoft will be rolling out a refreshed UI for their Store in Windows 8 and 8.1 in the next few days.
The redesign of the Windows Store focuses primarily on addressing customer feedback and making it easier to find the apps you need, it features mostly cosmetic changes like the new navigation bar on top of the Store. The updated Store also supports universal Windows and Windows Phone apps.
The thing you'll notice right away is the green navigation bar at the top of the screen, before the update the navigation bar only showed up when you right clicked or swiped down from the top of the screen, this confused a lot of users. The fact that Microsoft is stepping down from their content-first, chrome-second approach in both the Store and in other apps too probably means Microsoft finally realized this.
The Store now features collections like "Getting started", "Music Lovers" and "Red Stripe Deals" on the landing page along with featured app tiles on the landing page and category pages. Apps that are on sale will have a strike-through of the original price with the sale price in red.
Probably the most useful feature in this update is universal app support. Universal apps allow you to buy an app once and get it both on Windows and Windows Phone without additional charge. Apps that support this model will have a small icon next to their price:
The update should be rolling out later today or tomorrow through Windows Update, as long as you have the 8.1 Update installed.
