Yamaha releases new firmware for CRW-F1 - adds safe DAE

Via our forum FiReKiLL lets us know that Yamaha has released a new firmware version for their CRW-F1 drive. This new firmware supports more media and also adds another 'interesting' feature:



CRW-F1 firmware 1.0f:

  • Allowed CRW-F1 to switch the maximum rotation speed in reading Audio CD between 8700rpm and 4700rpm. For more details, click here.
  • Added support for following CD-R discs for 44x writing: CMC (48x), Imation (48x), MPO (48x, 52x), Plasmon (52x), Sky Media (52x), Sony (48x)
  • Added support for CMC Ultra Speed CD-RW disc (24x).

    So please note that when you download this latest firmware and flash your CRW-F1 drive with it, audio extraction will by default be limited to 24x. If you need more help with your Yamaha drive or other hardware related subjects please check out our General Hardware Forum.
